In just 100 days,
local building professionals, led by Heritage Homes of Fargo, will donate time and talent to transform a deteriorated facility into a place nine young people will call “home.”
They are teenagers and young adults with emotional, physical and developmental disabilities—all clients of Access of the Red River Valley—and they deserve a chance to live like other kids, to be part of a family, in a safe and nurturing environment. Together, we can make that happen.
A room of their own.
The new structure will be universally equipped and consist of a shared learning center and three 3-bedroom units — providing each “family member” with his or her own room. It will be built on the site of the now outdated Harbor House in Moorhead, Minn.
Access of the Red River Valley is a not-for-profit agency formed in 1984 by a group of parents who wanted to keep their children in a family setting and out of institutional care. The services provided by Access enable each individual to live a full life within the community.
