Students: Access is great experience for social work, special education, psychology, nursing, child and family studies, and physical therapy degrees. Our varying and flexible shifts fit your busy lifestyle. We will find a client shift that fits your class schedule. Each week you will work with the same client(s), building a relationship and providing consistent client care. Plus, do you need a job that gives you more work hours during the summer when school is out and less during the school year when you're busier? Bring in your class schedule, and we will build a work schedule that is perfect for you. Stop into our downtown Moorhead office (in the US Bank building, 5th floor, south of the Moorhead Center Mall), and fill out an application today. Now is a great time to begin working at a job you'll be proud of.

Have experience or a degree? If you have direct care experience or a degree in a related field, we may have full-time benefited positions in direct care, case management, or behavioral services. These full-time positions also include benefits.

Corporate Foster Care (all part-time unless otherwise noted): Access clients in foster care typically live in their own homes or in an Access house, and they all have jobs or attend school during the day. We typically provide one-on-one companion care to our clients from the time their ride brings them home from work or school (about 2:30 p.m.) until they go back to work or school the next morning (about 8:30 a.m.). Most clients go to bed around 10:00 p.m. and will sleep through the night. Staff assist clients with life skills and community events.

Our active clients love to participate in community events (karaoke, dances, bowling, etc.) as well as household chores. Some of our clients require assistance with personal care, and some require staff to help run behavior programs. This is challenging and rewarding work for our employees who help the clients achieve the independence they strive for. You can choose to work one or more shifts per week and every other weekend.

Typical Corporate Foster Care Shifts:
Weekdays: Start at 2:30 p.m. (includes an 8-hour sleep overnight) and end at 8:30 the next morning.
Weekends: Employees are asked to work every other weekend. Shifts vary depending on client need and staff availability.

In-Home Services (all part-time unless otherwise noted): Some Access clients live at home with their families. Due to the client's special needs, they may require assistance with personal care and/or learning social skills in the community and at home. Access will train the employee to meet the needs of each individual client.

All of the kids and adults go to school or work during the day, so your shifts would start after school or work and only last about three to four hours. Sometimes, families ask us to come in the early morning and help get their child or adult ready for the day. Other times, we go in the late evening to help with the bedtime routine. Families will often ask us to provide a staff member on Saturdays and Sundays as well.

Families and clients enjoy staff who are energetic, active, and caring. Like most people, the clients we serve participate in community events which employees accompany them to (softball, basketball at the Y, church meetings, etc.). And sometimes, staff simply pick the client up from school or work and help them with homework or take them biking or rollerblading. Hearing a client greet you and say, "I'm so glad you are here" makes this job a rewarding one.

Typical In-Home Services Shifts:
Weekdays: Shifts can start any time after 2:00 in the afternoon and typically last three to four hours.
Weekends: We ask that you are available to work every other weekend. Shifts vary from four to eight hours.
Early Mornings or Late Nights: Some families ask us to help with early morning routines or late night routines. These shifts are typically only two hours (6:30 to 8:30 a.m. or 7 to 9 p.m.).
Summer: Some families ask that we help out during the day (between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.) over summer vacation. These shifts are varied in time frame and length.
Flexible Scheduling: We will build you a work schedule that fits your current schedule.
