Community Events and Activities
Finding affordable and appropriate activities for clients can be a daunting task when starting out in direct care. Of course clients are always encouraged to attend the free Michael Czichotzki Learning Center (MCLC). The agency has made passes available for direct care staff to checkout. These passes are for visits with clients to the YMCA, the Red River Zoo, Children's Museum at Yunker Farm, and Beads on Broadway. To use these passes, staff can check them out from the office. Please see the Receptionist for assistance. Employees are asked to return the passes back to the office within three business days of checkout. This allows other staff to use the passes. Any employee who does not not return the pass within that time will be subject to a fee. There are also free passes given away at the MCLC based on availability.
Other potential client activities are as follows:
The Lake Agassiz Regional Library is located right by the office and has open computer time, chess boards, various free activities and plenty of books. The main Fargo Public Library across the river also has plenty of events. There is also a Little Free Library on the sidewalk a block around the corner from the MCLC with free books to borrow.
